Jointa Galusha, LLC – Town of Hartford Scholarship Program

Jointa Galusha, LLC has established the Jointa Galusha, LLC – Town of Hartford Scholarship Program to assist permanent residents of Hartford, NY, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at a two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be permanent residents of Hartford, NY, even if temporary residency has been established outside of Hartford (e.g., a student from Hartford who is currently residing at college elsewhere, but has a parent/guardian who still permanently resides in Hartford).
  • Be high school seniors, graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates.
  • Be planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire 2024-2025 academic year.

Award Amounts

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of $2,500. Up to three (3) awards will be granted. If qualified applicants exist, an attempt will be made to select 2 high school seniors. Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Jointa Galusha, LLC. Payments are made in one installment in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives

Financial need will be considered. Recipients will be selected from a pool of qualified applicants with consideration given to those who demonstrate the greatest need.

Preference will also be given to applicants pursuing a degree in geology, engineering or related sciences.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer of Jointa Galusha, LLC play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document(s):

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
  • Copy of pages 1 and 2 of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 (Please black out SSN) used to complete the Financial Information section of the application.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
