UBS Global Wealth Management has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the  Joseph J. Grano, Jr. Scholarship Program must be:

  • A dependent* child, age 24 and under, of a parent or guardian who is a full-time or part-time
    UBS Global Wealth Management Employee** with a minimum of one (1) year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll in the upcoming term, or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university located in the U.S. or Canada for the entire upcoming academic year.

*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee and claimed as dependents of the employee for tax purposes.

**The employee must be employed by UBS Global Wealth Management Entity as of the application deadline date and remain employed by UBS Global Wealth Management Entity as of the program employment verification date.

Award Information:

  • Awards ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 will be given.
  • Awards are for one year only and are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year provided they continue to meet eligibility requirements.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of UBS Global Wealth Management. Payments are made in one installment in U.S. dollars in mid-August.

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of UBS Global Wealth Management in the U.S. or Canada play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 6, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
