Kaiser Aluminum has established a scholarship program to assist employees of Kaiser Aluminum and children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or university programs.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants of the Kaiser Aluminum Scholarship Program must be:
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Awards are contingent on continued employment of the applicant or parent, as applicable, and may be renewed up to three additional years or until a degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by Kaiser Aluminum.
Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study
Applicants will be notified in late March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students not receiving an award may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Kaiser Aluminum. Payment is made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of career and educational goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances and an online appraisal.
Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Kaiser Aluminum play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
