Carl N. and Margaret Karcher Founders' Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

Carl Karcher Enterprises LLC has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to continue education in college programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Carl N. & Margaret Karcher Founders’ Scholarship Program must:

  • Students, age 21 and under, who reside in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington or Wyoming.
  • High school seniors or graduates, who plan to enroll for the first time in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.

Employees of Carl Karcher Enterprises LLC and their immediate families are eligible to receive a scholarship pursuant to this program.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $10,000 award. Up to ten (10) awards will be granted each year. Awards will be granted in proportion to the applications processed for students who will be attending each of the above types of schools. Awards are not renewable.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, financial need and an outside appraisal. At least one recipient will be a Carl Karcher Enterprises LLC employee or relative of an employee.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America and Carl Karcher Enterprises LLC. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Only recipients will be notified by early June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
