The Kleinfelder Group, Inc. has established the Kleinfelder Academic Scholarship Plan (KASP). This program provides scholarships to employees’ children and interns who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school and interns pursuing careers in our industry. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at accredited institutions of the students’ choice.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Intern employees employed by Kleinfelder during the calendar year 2018, who are currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited four-year college or university in one of the following curriculums:
*Biological Sciences-industry specific in the following: Watershed Management, Natural Resources Planning, Botany and Plant Sciences, Principles of Ecology, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Fisheries, and/or Range Management.
Kleinfelder’s Dependent Academic Scholarship Plan has two categories of awards:
Kleinfelder Intern Academic Scholarship Plan is for Kleinfelder interns employed during calendar year 2018. These scholarships are for intern employees who are currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited four-year college or university enrolled in one of the following curriculums listed below*.

If selected as a recipient of a Dependent Academic Scholarship in the “Industry Specific” category, the student will receive a $2,000 award. Up to four (4) awards will be granted this year. In addition, the top recipient in the “Industry Specific” category will receive a $5,000 Jim Kleinfelder award.
If selected as a recipient of a Dependent Academic Scholarship in the “At Large” category, the student will receive a $2,000 award. Up to four (4) awards will be granted this year. In addition, the top recipient in the “At Large” category will receive a $5,000 Legacy Award.
If selected as a recipient of an Intern Academic Scholarship, the intern will receive a $1,000 award. Up to five (5) awards will be granted this year.
Awards are not renewable, but students and interns may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards for the dependent program are for undergraduate study only. Intern awards are for undergraduate or graduate study.

Financial need is not considered.
Intern scholarship recipients must be employed by Kleinfelder during the previous calendar year and be enrolled in the previously mentioned curriculums. Selection of intern recipients will be selected based on the same criteria as academic scholarship recipients.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of The Kleinfelder Group, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified in June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students and interns may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Kleinfelder Group, Inc. Payment is made in one installment in early August.
