Kawaja Mason Core Values Scholarship

IFS Coatings, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist children or grandchildren of domestic employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America┬«, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Kawaja Mason Core Values Scholarship must:

  • Be dependent* or grandchild of full time IFS Coatings, Inc. (domestic) employees who have a minimum of 1 year employment with the company as of the application deadline date
    *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

Children of officers are ineligible.

Award
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award.

Awards are one-time and for undergraduate study only.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements

Selection of Recipients
Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America. IFS Coatings, Inc. will select the recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Financial need is not considered.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of IFS Coatings, Inc. Payments are made in one installment in late August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

Also as part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
