Deadline to apply: May 8, 2024 4:00 pm ET

The Melvin G. and Mary F. Keller Scholarship assists high school seniors who attend school and reside in Warren County, PA and are planning to pursue a teaching degree.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Melvin G. and Mary F. Keller Scholarship must:

  • Be Warren County, PA area high school seniors and residents of Warren County.
  • Be planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Be pursuing a teaching degree.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

PNC Employees, children of PNC employees or Trust committee members are ineligible.

Selection of Finalists and Recipients

Scholarship America selects finalists on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need will also be considered and must be demonstrated for the student’s application to be considered.

Once finalists are selected, a committee established by PNC Bank, N.A., Trustee, will select recipients.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as finalists or recipients. All applicants agree to accept decisions as final.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award in an amount determined by the Trustee scholarship committee.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time undergraduate teaching course of study.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in July.

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Trustee. Payment is made in September.
