The Sidney Kimmel Scholars Program

Premier Brands Group has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to The Sidney Kimmel Scholars Program must:

  • Be dependent* children, up to and including age 26, of Premier Brands Group employees, domestic and international, who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline.
    *Dependent children are children who qualify for benefits provided by Premier Brands Group.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates. Students outside the United States must be in their final year of upper or higher secondary school or be current technical or university level students.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,000 award. Up to 10 awards will be granted.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a postsecondary/bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent on maintaining a minimum grade point average of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Awards are issued in U.S. currency and are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement and financial need as calculated by Scholarship America. Academic evaluation of international applicants will include a review of the grade/mark average based on the grading system used in the applicant’s country and a review of the results of academic examinations.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Premier Brands Group play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in May.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Premier Brands Group. Payment is issued in early August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  1. A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: U.S. students uploading a high school transcript must also upload a copy of your SAT or ACT test scores if the test scores are not available on your high school transcript.

  2. Upper secondary school diploma or certificate, if earned (International applicants only).
  3. Results of examinations (International applicants only).
  4. English translations for any non-English documents.
