Koch Foundation Scholarship Program
Deadline to apply: March 13, 2025 3:00 pm CT

The Koch Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist children of Team Members of Koch Enterprises located in United States, Mexico, and England who plan to continue their education in college.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Koch Foundation Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children of full-time Koch Enterprises Team Members located in United States, Mexico, or England who have a minimum of 3 consecutive years of employment with the company as of January 31, 2025. Applicants who have received a scholarship from this Program prior to the start of this current Program cycle shall not be required to meet eligibility requirements concerning any employment with the Sponsor
    * Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the Team Member’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors/students in their final year of upper or higher secondary school
  • Planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university* for the entire upcoming academic year
*Students may attend a two-year college with the intent to transfer to a four-year college.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

Children of Shareholders of Koch Enterprises, Inc.; children of Presidents; siblings of Presidents of Koch subsidiaries; and children of officers of the Koch Foundation, Inc. are not eligible for an award.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $4,000 award. Up to three (3) award recipients will be awarded. Up to two (2) awards will be granted regardless of financial need, and at least one award will be granted to a student who demonstrates financial need.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent) and full-time enrollment.

Provided there are qualified applicants, recipients will be selected in proportion to the number of applicants per country.

Award amounts are listed in U.S. dollars (USD) and award payments will be issued in USD. Recipients may choose to receive award payments in their local currency when available.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Awards are for qualified education-related expenses only (tuition, fees, books, and required supplies/equipment). Awards amounts may be adjusted if award exceeds the cost of qualified education-related expenses.

Notification

All applicants will be notified by the end of April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Koch Foundation. Payment is made in August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation
  • Financial need will be considered for one need-based award. The recipient must demonstrate financial need.

Academic evaluation will include a review of the grade/mark average based on the grading system used in the applicant’s country and a review of the results of academic examinations.

Preference will be given to those showing a higher level of leadership in community and school activities.
