Kohler BOLD Scholarship Program

Kohler Co. has established a scholarship program to recognize the importance of education and to provide support to students in Sheboygan County from diverse backgrounds who plan to continue their education in college. At Kohler Co., we embrace diversity, celebrate inclusion, and uphold equity for all.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the  Kohler BOLD Scholarship Program must:

  • Be high school seniors or in their final year of secondary school.
  • Reside in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.
  • Self-identify as Asian, Native Hawaiian, other Pacific Islander, Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native or Hispanic or Latino.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, or university for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to five (5) awards will be granted.

Awards are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale) and fulltime enrollment.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

Recipients are selected by Kohler Co. All information received is considered confidential. Decisions are final and are not subject to appeal. The program is competitive; not all applicants will be selected as recipients.

Selection of Recipients

The program will use modified SAI finalist selection criteria including the consideration of academic performance and future potential, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances and two (2)online recommendations (at least one coming from a teacher at their current school) and a 1,000 character essay.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Kohler Company. Payment is made in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

Also as part of your application, Two online recommendation forms must be submitted on your behalf.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
