Lalor Family Dental Employee and Children of Employees Scholarship Program

Lalor Family Dental has established a scholarship program to assist employees and employees’ dependent children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs in dentistry or other dental health related fields of study. Scholarships are offered each year for full- or part-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®. Scholarship America is the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the Lalor Family Dental Employee and Children of Employees  Scholarship Program award must be:

  • Full- and part-time employees or dependent* children of full- and part-time Lalor Family Dental employees who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date. 

*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily  supported by the employee.

  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

*Lalor Family Dental employees may attend school on a part-time basis.

  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
  • Pursuing a health related course of study. Preference will be given to those pursuing a dentistry related field.

Award information:

  • If selected as a recipient the student will receive a $1,000 award.
  • Up to ten (10) awards will be granted each year.
  • Awards are not renewable, however students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of goals and aspirations
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Lalor Family Dental play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified mid-June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Lalor Family Dental. Payment is made in one installment in early August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken

Also as part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
