LandCare Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

LandCare Education Assistance Foundation (LEAF) has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the LandCare Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent* children/young adults, age 26 and under, of full-time or part-time continuously LandCare domestic employees who have one-year of continuous tenure employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
For example: A seasonal crew member would be eligible, if they start on January 1, then are a seasonal lay off in November, and return to work the following January 1.
*Dependent children are defined as biological, step-or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee

**A first-generation college student is defined as a student whose parents or primary supporters have not graduated college.

Vocational-technical programs, through accredited institutions, that define your enrollment as full-time are eligible, even if the length of the program is shorter than a traditional academic year.

All employee children who meet the eligibility requirements above are eligible regardless of citizenship or residency status.

Children of Landcare’s Executive Committee members are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient and attending a four-year college or university, the student will be eligible for an award up to $3,000. Recipients attending a two-year college or vocational school will be eligible for an award up to $1,500.

Awards may be eligible to be renewed one to three additional years depending upon the type of school and type of degree the recipient is pursuing. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.
