Doris & Olle Larsson Education Awards Program

Medela LLC has established an educational awards program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Doris and Olle Larsson Education Awards Program must be:

  • Unmarried dependent* children, age 25 and under, of full-time Medela LLC employees
    *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, with a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. Students pursuing graduate study may also be eligible

 

Award information:

Awards up to $2,000 will be granted for students attending a four year school and up to $500 for students attending a two-year or vocational school. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Recipients of education assistance awards may receive awards for no more than four years for undergraduate study and two years for graduate study.

Awards are for undergraduate study first, and if funds are available, for graduate study also.

Deadline

Your application must be submitted on or before March 4, 2024 3:00 pm CT.

Selection of Recipients

Recipients are selected on the basis of academic record. Financial need is not considered.

Selection is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Medela LLC play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes payments on behalf of Medela LLC. Payments are made in early August, provided students have submitted proof of enrollment.

Awards are considered taxable income to the parent employee. Medela will assist all employees with the tax liability associated with receiving an award for their dependent child.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  1. Current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
