Margaret W. & Irvin Lesher Foundation Scholarship

The Margaret W. & Irvin Lesher Foundation Scholarship assists students who resided in Rimersburg, Toby Township, or Madison Township in Clarion County, PA during their senior year of high school.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Margaret W. & Irvin Lesher Foundation ship:

  • Must be planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Preference will be given to people who reside in Rimersburg, Toby Township, and Madison Township in Clarion County, PA during their senior year of high school.

Children of PNC Bank employees are ineligible to apply for the scholarship.

Selection of Finalists and Recipients

Scholarship America selects finalists on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • A personal statement
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Financial need will also be considered and must be demonstrated for the student’s application to be considered.

Once finalists are selected, a committee established by PNC Institutional Investments, Trustee, will select recipients.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as finalists or recipients. All applicants agree to accept decisions as final.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award in an amount determined by the Trustee scholarship committee.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in July.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Trustee. Payment is made in September.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • Most recently filed tax return (Form 1040)
  • SAR from FAFSA (must include EFC number)
  • Financial aid award letter

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 23, 2023 3:00 pm Central Time.
