Link-Belt Cranes Scholarship Program
Deadline to apply: January 31, 2025 3:00 pm CT

Link-Belt Cranes has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Link-Belt Cranes Scholarship Program must:

  • Be children* (ages 23 and younger) of full‑time salaried and non-union hourly Link-Belt Cranes employees who have a minimum of one (1) year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
*Children are defined as natural, adopted, and stepchildren, or wards of the employee.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Children of officers of the company are not eligible to participate in the program.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of $750 or $1,500. To receive a $1,500 award, recipients must demonstrate financial need of $1,500 or greater; recipients who do not demonstrate this need will receive a $750 award.

Awards may be renewed for up to one additional year. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale) and continued parental employment.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Any unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation.

Financial need is considered when determining the amount of the award.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Link-Belt Crane play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients and all applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Previous recipients may reapply to the program every other year provided they meet eligibility requirements.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in April.
