The Lintner Scholarship Trust assists students who reside in, or whose parent/guardian resides in, the Borough of Blairsville, Burrell Township, or Black Lick Township in Indiana County Pennsylvania. Applicants must be planning to continue their education in undergraduate or graduate programs at Penn State University.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Lintner Scholarship Trust must meet all of the following criteria:
PNC Employees, children of PNC employees or Trust committee members are ineligible.
The authorized distribution for new and renewal awards each year varies based upon the required minimum distribution of the fund.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree or graduate degree is earned, whichever occurs first. If a recipient receives a bachelor’s degree and immediately enrolls in graduate study, the award may transfer from undergraduate to graduate study but may only be received a total of 4 times.
Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study and continued full-time enrollment at Penn State University.
Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Trustee. Payment is made in August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Scholarship America will evaluate and rank all eligible applications and forward to the Trustee. An outside committee will select recipients and consider each recipient’s financial need when determining award amounts.
Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
All applicants will be notified in June.
