Dr. Lewis J. Minor Memorial Scholarship Program

Nestlé USA is proud to sponsor a scholarship program to assist children of employees working at the L.J. Minor Factory in Cleveland, OH to pursue higher education.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Dr. Lewis J. Minor Memorial Scholarship Program must:

  • Dependent* children of permanent part-time or full-time Nestlé USA employees working at the L.J. Minor Factory in Cleveland, Ohio who have a minimum of one (1) year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
    *Dependent children are defined as natural or legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current undergraduates who plan to enroll or are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Nestlé scholarship recipients may accept additional scholarships from other sources.

Applicants’ parents, whether one or both are employed with Nestlé, must receive an individual, annual base compensation from Nestlé USA or its affiliate companies of no more than $80,000.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, each student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to two (2) awards may be granted each year.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Finalists are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. An essay will also be included.

Financial need is not considered.

 
Scholarship America will identify up to five finalists and forward their essays to Nestlé USA for review and selection of recipients. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Nestlé USA. Payments are made in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 18, 2021 3:00 pm.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
