Deadline to apply: March 2, 2020 3:00 pm CT

LMI Aerospace, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in university, college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the LMI Aerospace Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 25 and under, of full-time LMI Aerospace, Inc. employees. Employees must reside in the United States and have a minimum of one (1) year (twelve continuous months) of employment with no more than a 30-day break in service with the company as of the application deadline date.
*Dependent children are defined as biological, stepchildren or legally adopted children living in employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors or high school graduates or be current postsecondary undergraduates.
  • Planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or a vocational-technical school for the entire 2020-2021 academic year.

Award Amounts

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,500 to $5,000.  Up to twenty-five (25) awards will be granted.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

If enough qualified applications are received, awards will be limited to one per household.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.

Preference will be given to students indicating majors in the following fields:  all engineering majors; all math majors; all science majors, excluding social sciences, but including computer science; management information systems (MIS); and science, technology or math education.

Financial need will be considered in determining the amount of each award. Potential recipients who demonstrate no need or do not provide financial information will be eligible to receive an honorarium at the minimum amount.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of LMI Aerospace, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in April. Recipients will be notified via U.S. Mail; non-recipients will be notified via email.
