Local 52 I.A.T.S.E Scholarship Fund
Application status: Closed

The Local 52 I.A.T.S.E is pleased to announce the formation of a Scholarship Fund for the benefit of members and their families. It is the goal of this program to help members meet the increasing financial demands of providing a college education for their children. Administration of the Scholarship Fund by Scholarship America®, assures both competent and impartial treatment for all applicants.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Local 52 I.A.T.S.E. Scholarship Fund must be:

  • Children (natural or legally adopted children or stepchildren) of members in good standing of Local 52 I.A.T.S.E who have a minimum of ten years of membership with the labor union as of the application deadline date.
  • High school seniors, or graduates who have not yet begun their post-secondary education, age 20 or under, who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school this upcoming academic year.

Awards

Up to four (4) awards of $3,000 each will be granted.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years (four years if the student documents a bona fide five-year undergraduate program) or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent) in a full-time course of study, continued parental membership in good standing in Local 52 I.A.T.S.E. and continuation of the program by the Local 52 I.A.T.S.E.

Only one new award is granted per family in any given year.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
