Lumbee Guaranty Bank has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors from select high schools who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Lumbee Guaranty Bank Scholarship Program must:
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,000 award. Up to ten (10) awards will be awarded with one recipient per high school, providing there are qualified applicants.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by Lumbee Guaranty Bank.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in late May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Lumbee Guaranty Bank. Payment is made in August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.
Preference will be given to students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 – 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Lumbee Guaranty Bank play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
As part of your application, you must upload the following:
NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
