Russell T. Lund Scholarship Program

Lund Scholarship Program is intended to help provide access to education for the valued employees who greatly contributed to our success.”

Lund Food Holdings, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist employees, employees’ children or employees’ grandchildren who plan to pursue postsecondary education in college and vocational programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at any accredited postsecondary institution of the student’s choice.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

 

Applicants to the Russell T. Lund Scholarship Program must be:

  • Full- or part-time employees, OR children or grandchildren up to age 24 of full- or part-time Lunds family of businesses employees.
    • Full- and part-time employees may apply for Russell T. Lund Scholarships after six months of uninterrupted employment.
    • Children of employees, up to age 24, may apply for scholarships after the employee has been with the company for two years. Children include natural or adopted children, stepchildren or wards of employees.
    • Grandchildren of employees, up to age 24, may apply for scholarships after the employee has completed five years of employment.
      *All employees must be in good standing with the company as of the application deadline date and on the date any award is made.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school with intent to pursue a bachelor’s degree, an associate degree or a certificate.

Award

Up to ten (10) $3,000 scholarships will be awarded each year. From time to time, an additional scholarship in the amount of $3,500 is awarded. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in April. This is a competitive scholarship program. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes Russell T. Lund scholarship payments on behalf of Lund Food Holdings, Inc. Payments are made in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • academic record
  • potential to succeed
  • demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • honors
  • work experience
  • a statement of educational and career goals
  • unusual personal or family circumstances
  • an online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Lund Food Holdings, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 10, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
