Russell T. Lund Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

“I am proud to present the Russell T. Lund Scholarship Program designed specifically for employees of Lund Food Holdings, Inc. My grandfather firmly believed in the value of education and felt it was part of our company’s philosophy to provide employees with opportunities to better their lives. Named in honor of my grandfather, the founder of Lund Food Stores, the Russell T. Lund Scholarship Program is intended to help provide access to education for the valued employees who greatly contributed to our success.”

-Tres Lund, President and CEO, Lund Food Holdings, Inc.

Lund Food Holdings, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist employees, employees’ children or employees’ grandchildren who plan to pursue postsecondary education in college and vocational programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at any accredited postsecondary institution of the student’s choice.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Russell T. Lund Scholarship Program must be:

  • Full- or part-time employees, OR children or grandchildren up to age 24 of full- or part-time Lunds family of businesses employees.
    • Full- and part-time employees may apply for Russell T. Lund Scholarships after six months of uninterrupted employment.
    • Children of employees, up to age 24, may apply for scholarships after the employee has been with the company for two years. Children include natural or adopted children, stepchildren or wards of employees.
    • Grandchildren of employees, up to age 24, may apply for scholarships after the employee has completed five years of employment.
*All employees must be in good standing with the company as of the application deadline date and on the date any award is made.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school with intent to pursue a bachelor’s degree, an associate degree or a certificate.

If after registering your profile on the Hub you believe you are eligible for consideration for the scholarship, and not able to view the application, please contact for assistance.

Up to ten (10) $3,000 scholarships will be awarded each year. From time to time, an additional scholarship in the amount of $3,500 is awarded. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Applicants will be notified in April. This is a competitive scholarship program. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
