Lurie Children’s is sponsoring the “Children’s Children” Scholarship Program to assist the children of our employees in continuing their education in college or vocational school programs toward a career in the healthcare field.

We believe this program will be a valuable tool in contributing to the future pool of healthcare professionals for Lurie Children’s and the healthcare community in general.

The “Children’s Children” Scholarship Program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the “Children’s Children” Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 24 and under, of full and part-time employees budgeted at 20 hours or more per week who have a minimum of one year employment with the company as of the deadline date and are still employed at the time of the award distribution.*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study in the field of healthcare, at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical college for the entire upcoming academic year.

If selected as a recipient, an award will be granted to the child/student of an employee based on the employee’s status as follows:

  • Part-time (40 – 59 hours per pay period) – $1,500
  • Full-time (60 – 80 hours per pay period) – $3,000

It is Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago’s intent to grant awards to represent all levels of employees.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Students may receive a maximum of four (4) awards.
