At Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, we are committed to helping you meet your personal and professional goals. It is part of our promise to you as an employee. One such goal you may have is to provide a college education for your children.
Lurie Children’s is sponsoring the “Children’s Children” Scholarship Program to assist the children of our employees in continuing their education in college or vocational school programs toward a career in the healthcare field.
We believe this program will be a valuable tool in contributing to the future pool of healthcare professionals for Lurie Children’s and the healthcare community in general.
The “Children’s Children” Scholarship Program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
If selected as a recipient, an award will be granted to the child/student of an employee based on the employee’s status as follows:
It is Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago’s intent to grant awards to represent all levels of employees.
Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Students may receive a maximum of four (4) awards.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Lurie Children’s. Payment is made in one installment in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstance and an online recommendation.
Financial need is not considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. Scholarship America will confirm employment/eligibility status with Lurie Children’s, but, in no instance does any officer or employee of Lurie Children’s play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified in July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
