Lynden Memorial Scholarship Program

The Lynden Memorial Scholarship Program has been established to assist children, stepchildren and grandchildren of Lynden Family of Companies employees who plan to continue their education in college, graduate, or or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Lynden Memorial Scholarship Program must:

  • Be a child, stepchild or grandchild of an employee of the Lynden Family of Companies*.
  • Be a high school senior or graduate, college undergraduate or graduate student who plans to enroll or is already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate course of study at an accredited vocational-technical school, two- or four-year college or university, or graduate school in the United States or Canada for the entire upcoming academic year.

*Lynden Family of Companies includes actively-managed, wholly or partially-owned companies of Lynden Incorporated. The qualifying employee must have averaged at least 30 hours per week for at least three consecutive years as of the application deadline date and be currently employed by one of the Lynden Family of Companies at the time of award notification to be eligible to receive funding. Employee includes those who were employed at the time of their death, regardless of length of employment.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $3,000 award.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study.

Provided there are qualified applicants, up to one-half of the awards will be granted in the vocational trade.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in mid-April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Lynden Memorial Scholarship Fund. Payment is made in August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, and any personal or family circumstances.

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Lynden Memorial Scholarship Fund or Lynden Family of Companies play a part in the selection.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are uploading a high school transcript, you must also upload a copy of your official SAT or ACT test scores if the test scores are not available on your high school transcript. Neither SAT or ACT test scores are required for Vocational-Technical school applicants.
