Mid-America Apartment Communities, Inc. (“MAA”) established a scholarship program to assist associates with the expense of higher education for their dependent children who plan to continue their education in college, technical school or a vocational program. Scholarships are offered each year for students enrolled in a full-time course of study at an accredited institution.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Mid-America Apartment Communities Scholarship Program for Sons and Daughters must be:
NOTE: The recipient’s parent must be actively employed in good standing with MAA at the time the award payment is made.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award in the amount of $1,500. Up to three (3) awards will be granted each year. One of the scholarships is designated for a student planning to attend a two-year college or vocational-technical school, provided there is a qualified candidate. In the event there is no qualified candidate, the award may be given to a student pursuing study at a four-year college or university.
Awards are not renewable. However, students who did not receive an award in the past may reapply to the program each year as long as they meet the eligibility requirements. MAA will grant a maximum of one (1) scholarship per dependent child’s lifetime and a maximum of three (3) scholarships per eligible associate’s family.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Financial need is not considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or associate of MAA play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified in July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of MAA. Payments are made in August.
