Mid-America Apartments, L.P. (“MAA”) established a scholarship program to assist associates with the expense of higher education for their dependent children who plan to continue their education in college, technical school or a vocational program. Scholarships are offered each year for students enrolled in a full-time course of study at an accredited institution.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
Applicants to the MAA Scholarship Program for Sons and Daughters must be:
*Dependent children must meet the definition of dependent as required by the Internal Revenue Service.
NOTE: The recipient’s parent must remain an employee at the time payment of award is made.

One of the scholarships is designated for a student planning to attend a two-year college or vocational-technical school, provided there is a qualified candidate. In the event there is no qualified candidate, the award may be given to a student pursuing study at a four-year college or university.
Awards are not renewable. However, students who did not receive an award in the past may reapply to the program each year as long as they meet the eligibility requirements. MAA will grant a maximum of one (1) scholarship per dependent child’s lifetime and a maximum of three (3) scholarships per eligible associate’s family.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstance, and an online recommendation.
