The Martin Plaehn Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

Snap One has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility
Applicants to The Martin Plaehn Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be dependent* children, age 26 and under, of full-time domestic employees who have a minimum of 1 year of employment with Snap One or subsidiary as of the application deadline date.
*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • Plan to enroll in part-time or full-time study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of executive level employees are ineligible to apply.

Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,000 award. Up to twenty (20) awards will be granted.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program for a second award if they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate and vocational study only.

Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

A high school or college counselor or advisor, an instructor, or a work supervisor who knows the applicant well should complete the recommendation. Family members cannot complete the recommendation.

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Snap One a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification
All applicants will be notified in May.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Snap One. Payment is made in August.
