Mary Free Bed Guild has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors or graduates, or current college undergraduate or graduate level students, who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Mary Free Bed Guild Scholarship Program must:
*Applicants with a diagnosed physical disability must submit a Diagnosis Verification Form, signed by a physician, as part of the application.
Awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be granted. Awards are renewable at a minimum of $1,000 for up to three years or until a bachelor’s or master’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and continued enrollment in an eligible field. Awards may be increased based on academic performance, accomplishments and Sponsor budget. Sponsor may request additional information, including a video call or submission, from award finalists and renewal students. Awards may transfer from a bachelor to a master’s degree if the recipient enrolls in a graduate program the semester following their undergraduate graduation.
Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study.
Finalists and non-finalists will be notified in late May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Mary Free Bed Guild. Payment is made in August.
Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a personal statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
Personal Statement: Describe your career and educational goals and objectives and your commitment to serving diverse populations.
Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
