Mativ Tomorrow's Leaders Scholarship Program
Deadline to apply: May 20, 2024 3:00 pm CT

Mativ has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ dependent children who plan to pursue postsecondary education leading to a baccalaureate degree. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at any accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Mativ Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children of full time Mativ employees who have a minimum of six months of employment with the company as of the application deadline date and continue to be employed at the time of selection notification.
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren and children by legal guardianship living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
Exceptions: Children of employees that are already in college at the time their parents start employment with Mativ will also be able to apply as long as the six month minimum employment eligibility requirement is still met.
  • High school seniors who will enroll in full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year U.S. or Canadian college or university for the entire 2024-2025 academic year.

Children of Mativ officers are not eligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to twelve (12) awards will be granted each year. Awards may be renewed up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a cumulative 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, continued full-time enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. or Canada, and good standing in the university and the community, and parent continues to be employed with Mativ or subsidiary.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Mativ. Payments are made in mid-August. Checks are mailed to each recipient’s home address and are made payable to the school for the student.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need is not considered. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Mativ play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
