Matrix Service Company Scholarship Program

Matrix Service Company has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Matrix Service Company Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent* children, age 26 and under of a full time employee who has a minimum of one year of consecutive employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
    * Dependent children are defined as biological children, step-children, legally adopted children, foster children, or children for whom the employee has been named legal guardian.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates, current college undergraduates or current vocational/technical school students. Students outside the United States must be in their final year of upper or higher secondary school or be current technical or university level students.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school (or equivalent) for the entire upcoming academic year.

Dependent children of Officers of the Company are ineligible to apply.

Award

For 2020, selected recipients will receive a $2,000 USD scholarship award.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Matrix Service Company play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Matrix Service Company. Payment is made in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken.

One online recommendation must also be submitted on your behalf.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
