Elsie B. Moore Award

PNC Bank, N.A. Trustee of the PNC Bank Delaware (DE) Scholarships offers the Elsie B. Moore Award for students who have been accepted for admission and will be enrolled as first-year medical students in the upcoming fall term.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Elsie B. Moore Award must:

  • Be legal residents of the state of Delaware.
  • Been accepted for admission and enrolled as a first-year medical student for the upcoming fall term.
  • Be of good moral character and citizenship.

Awards

The authorized distribution for new and renewal awards is determined by PNC Bank, N.A. Trustee of the PNC Bank Delaware (DE) Scholarships.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a graduate medical degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance.

Awards are for graduate study in the medical field only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late May.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PNC Bank, N.A. Trustee of the PNC Bank Delaware (DE) Scholarships. Payments are made in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Any unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need based on Suggested Parental Contribution (SPC).

Scholarship America will process the applications for eligibility, and PNC Bank, N.A. Trustee of the PNC Bank Delaware (DE) Scholarships selection committee will select the recipients and determine the award amounts. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • A copy of your MCAT test scores.
  • First two pages of the most recently filed 1040 IRS Form (Please black out SSN).
  • A letter of recommendation from your principal or faculty adviser.
  • A copy of your Letter of Acceptance into Medical School.
  • A copy of your current, Delaware drivers license.

You must also have a copy of your Pre-Professional Committee Evaluation mailed to Scholarship America directly from your college. If your college does not have such a committee, you must upload an additional three letters of recommendation from faculty members with the other required uploaded documents above.

The Pre-Professional Committee Evaluation must be mailed from the college to the address below by the application deadline:
