Griffith Morgan Scholarship

PNC Bank, N.A., Trustee of the Griffith Morgan Scholarship Trust has established a scholarship program to assist residents of the Borough of East Brady, Clarion County, PA or an area in the vicinity which is or will be served by the East Brady Joint Area School who plan to continue their education in college, vocational, or graduate school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Griffith Morgan Scholarship must:

  • Be a resident of the Borough of East Brady, Clarion County, PA or an area in the vicinity which is or will be served by the East Brady Joint Area School.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates or graduate level students, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the United States of America, for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of PNC Bank N.A. employees and employees are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $4,000 . Up to 50 awards will be granted. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in May.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PNC Bank, N.A., Trustee of the Griffith Morgan Scholarship Trust. Payment is made in August.

Selection Criteria

The program will evaluate and rank all eligible applications using modified SAI evaluation criteria including the consideration of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, an online recommendation, financial need, and a custom 1,000 character essay.

SAI will provide all eligible applicants and Sponsor Trust committee will select recipients. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.  All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.


As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 3, 2022 4:00 pm ET.
