NAAA Warren Young, Sr. Scholastic Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Program

The NAAA Warren Young, Sr. Scholastic Foundation, Inc. has established the NAAA Warren Young, Sr. Scholastic Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Program to assist full-time employees of NAAA member auctions or their corporate owner, their children, step-children and grandchildren who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the NAAA Warren Young, Sr. Scholastic Foundation, Inc. program must be:

  • Full-time U.S. or Canadian employees, employed as of January 1, 2024, of a North American National Auto Auction Association member auction or their corporate owner and their children, step-children and grandchildren. Click here for a list of eligible member auctions.
    • If an employee becomes disabled, retires or dies during the application process their children or grandchildren are still eligible
    • If an employee transfers from one NAAA member auction or Corporate Office to another NAAA member or Corporate office after an application has been submitted, employee must meet all eligibility requirements at the current member auction or their corporate owner at the time of award notification.
  • High school seniors/students in their final year of upper or higher secondary school, graduates, current CEGEP, technical, or college/university undergraduate students who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school or CEGEP institution for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Board members of NAAA and any subsidiaries of NAAA, including the NAAA Warren Young, Sr. Scholastic Foundation and their children and grandchildren are ineligible to apply.

Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of $10,000 or $5,000 based on their college choice. Up to 12 awards of $10,000 each will be granted to students attending an accredited four-year school. Up to 4 awards of $5,000 each will be granted to students attending a two-year or vocational/trade school or CEGEP institution. In the event that there are not enough applicants to award the 4 awards of $5,000 each, the awards may be granted to students attending an accredited 4-year school.

  • Assuming there are qualified applicants, up to 4 awards of $10,000 will be granted to students who demonstrate financial need.
  • The other 12 awards will be granted to the highest-ranking applicants, regardless of financial need.

Awards are for qualified education-related expenses only (tuition, fees, books, and required supplies/equipment). Award amounts are listed in U.S. dollars (USD) and award payments will be issued in USD. Awards are for undergraduate study only and are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in early June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of NAAA Warren Young, Sr. Scholastic Foundation, Inc. Payments are made in one installment in early August.

Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need will be considered for 4 of the 16 awards. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of NAAA or NAAA Warren Young, Sr. Scholastic Foundation, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than April 2, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
