National Vision College Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

National Vision has established a scholarship program to assist children of National Vision associates, or doctors employed by certain affiliated independent healthcare practices who plan to continue their education in college.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the National Vision College Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 24 and under, of National Vision associates, or doctors employed by certain affiliated independent healthcare practices, who are employed with the company as of the application deadline.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll for the first time in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year and pursue a bachelor degree. Applicants who begin studies at two-year colleges must plan to transfer to a four-year college.

Dependents of Officers of National Vision or its subsidiaries as well as temporary associates are not eligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to ten (10)* awards will be granted.

*A minimum of six (6) awards will be granted to the dependents of National Vision retail, manufacturing, and/or distribution associates.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued parental employment and continuation of the program by National Vision. The recipient’s parent must remain employed at the time of each award payment.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late March.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of National Vision. Payments are made in August and December.

Selection of Recipients

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of National Vision play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 20, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
