The NEMRA Educational Scholarship Foundation Program
Application status: Closed

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMRA) has established the NEMRA Educational Scholarship Foundation Program to assist children of its representative members and their employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This program is administered by Scholarship America┬«, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the NEMRA Educational Scholarship Foundation Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 25 and under, of representative members of National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association ( NEMRA) and their employees. Members must be in good standing as of the application deadline date.
*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the representative member’s or employee’s household or primarily supported by the represntative member or employee.
  • High school seniors or graduates, current postsecondary undergraduates, or graduate level students, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school or graduate school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of employees of NEMRA are ineligible to apply

Award Amounts

Up to twenty (20) awards will be granted each year. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate, graduate or doctoral study and may be used to pay for tuition, books, lab, fees, or other education related expenses.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate an interest, through club membership or a declared major, in business administration, marketing, sales, or electrical engineering related fields. Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of NEMRA Educational Foundation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in late January and announced at the NEMRA annual conference. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of NEMRA Educational Foundation. Payments are made in early August.
