Nestlé Nutrition Scholarship Awards

Nestlé Nutrition Scholarship Awards is a scholarship program to assist children of employees of Gerber Products Company, Nestlé Nutrition R&D Centers Inc. and Nestlé Health Science Inc. who plan to pursue higher education. Renewable scholarships are awarded each year for full-time study at any accredited institution of the recipient student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the Nestlé Nutrition Scholarship Awards program must meet the following requirements:

  • A dependent* child of an active part-time or full-time employee of Gerber Products Company, Nestlé Nutrition R&D Centers Inc. and Nestlé Health Science Inc. who has a minimum of one years of employment with the company as of March 16, 2020. Years of uninterrupted service with a business purchased by Nestlé count toward meeting this requirement. The children of retired and deceased employees are also eligible.
  • *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children, stepchildren, or legal wards living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.

  • A high school senior or graduate who plans to enroll or student who is already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Applicants can receive only one scholarship from Nestlé during any one school year. Nestlé scholarship recipients may accept additional scholarships from other sources.

Children of company officers of Gerber Products Company, Nestlé Nutrition R&D Centers Inc. and Nestlé Health Science Inc. or its affiliate companies at management level of Vice President or above are not eligible to apply.

International employees are not eligible to participate in this Program.

Applicants can receive only one scholarship from Eligible Operating Companies during any one school year. Recipients may accept additional scholarships from other sources.

Eligible Operating Companies

  • Gerber Products Company d/b/a Nestlé Infant Nutrition
  • Nestlé Nutrition R&D Centers Inc.
  • Nestlé Health Science Inc.

Award Information

  • If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $3,500 award.
  • Up to five (5) awards will be granted provided there are qualified applicants.
  • Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years provided that recipients maintain full-time enrollment (typically a course load of at least 12 credits per academic period) and a grade point average each term of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Grades are not cumulative.

Awards are for undergraduate study only. Courses taken after attainment of a bachelor’s degree do not qualify even if related to a second undergraduate degree or curriculum.

Notification

  • Notification is sent to all applicants by email in mid-May.

Payment of Scholarships

  • Payment is made in two installments on July 15 and December 1.
  • Scholarship America issues scholarship checks on behalf of Nestlé Nutrition Scholarship Awards.
  • Checks are mailed from Scholarship America to each recipient’s home address.
  • Checks are made payable to the school for the student.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Honors and awards
  • Work experience
  • Statement of career and educational goals and aspirations
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

A limit of one award per family per year may be granted. The applicant’s parent must remain an active part-time or full-time employee at the time of selection.

Recipients are selected by Scholarship America. All information received is considered confidential. In no instance does any officer or employee of Gerber Products Company, Nestlé Nutrition R&D Centers Inc. and Nestlé Health Science Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

The Nestlé Nutrition Scholarship Awards program reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program..

As part of your application, you must upload the following document(s):

  • Current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken

Also as part of your application, one online recommendation must be completed on your behalf by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 19, 2020.
