Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time undergraduate study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Nestlé R&D Scholarship Program must:
Applicants can receive only one scholarship from Nestlé or one of its affiliates during any one school year. Nestlé scholarship recipients may accept additional scholarships from other sources.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $4,000. If warranted, and at the discretion of Nestlé R&D Center, the total distribution may be increased or decreased based on the quality and quantity of applications.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon the recipient achieving a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. Grades are not cumulative.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in mid May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. Payment is made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
Financial need will be considered. Once recipients are selected, financial need is reviewed to determine the amount of each award. Recipients who do not demonstrate financial need or whose parents choose not to supply the requested financial information will be eligible to receive an award at the minimum amount.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
