Nestlé USA College Scholarship Foundation Awards

The Nestlé USA College Scholarship Foundation is proud to sponsor a scholarship program to assist children of employees of Nestlé USA to pursue higher education. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at any accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Nestlé USA College Scholarship Foundation Awards must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must be a dependent* child of a full-time or permanent part-time employee of Nestlé USA, Nestlé Nutrition, and Nestlé Professional who has a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline. Years of uninterrupted service with a business purchased by Nestlé count toward meeting this requirement. The children of retired and deceased employees are also eligible.

*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children, stepchildren, or legal wards living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.

  • Must be a high school senior, high school graduate or a current undergraduate.
  • Must enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. For Students attending college outside of the U.S. where no such accreditation exists, the institution must be a bonafide university which is defined as having a student body, curriculum, faculty, and campus.

Applicants can receive only one scholarship from Nestlé or its affiliates during any one school year. Nestlé scholarship recipients may accept additional scholarships from other sources.

Children of officers of Nestlé USA or its affiliate companies at management level Vice President and above may not apply.

The Nestlé USA College Scholarship Foundation Awards are for children of Nestlé USA, Nestlé Nutrition, and Nestlé Professional employees.

If employee works for Nestlé Health & Science, please do not complete this application. This operating company has its own scholarship program. Please contact the appropriate HR representative for information on their scholarship program.

If employee works for Nestlé Purina PetCare Company, Nespresso, or Nestlé IT, please note these operating companies currently do not have a scholarship program at this time.

What will be awarded?

  • Awards will be in the amount of $4,000 each. The number of new scholarship awards will vary depending upon the funds available from the Nestlé Scholarship Foundation.
  • Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years provided that recipients maintain a course load of at least 12 credits per academic period and a grade point average each term of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Grades are not cumulative.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only. Courses taken after attainment of a bachelor’s degree do not qualify even if related to a second undergraduate degree or curriculum.

How and when will I be notified?

  • Notification is sent to all applicants by email in mid-May.

How and when are scholarships paid?

  • Payment is made in one installment in mid-July.
  • Scholarship America issues scholarship checks on behalf of Nestlé USA College Scholarship Foundation.
  • Checks are mailed to the recipient’s home address and made payable to the school for the student.

How are recipients selected?

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation
  • Financial need

According to IRS regulations, no more than 25 percent of eligible applicants may be awarded scholarships.

Recipients are selected by Scholarship America. All information received is considered confidential. In no instance does any officer or employee of Nestlé or the Nestlé Scholarship Foundation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

The Nestlé Scholarship Foundation reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document(s):

  • Current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 27, 2024 11:59 pm EST.
