NJR Service Corporation has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the NJR Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship Program must:
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $ 1,500 award. The award is renewable for up to three additional years or until a vocational degree or certificate or bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued employment of the student’s parent at NJR and continuation of the program by NJR Service Corporation.
Awards will not be made for study at a government-subsidized military academy.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in mid March.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of NJR Service Corporation. Payment is made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, an essay on diversity and inclusion, and any unusual personal or family circumstances that may exist.
Financial need will not be considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of NJR Service Corporation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
