Northwest Pipe Company Scholarship Program

Northwest Pipe Company has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Northwest Pipe Company Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children or grandchildren, age 28 and under, of full-time Northwest Pipe Company employees who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Officers and executive level employees (those in pay grades EX-3 and higher) are ineligible.

*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children, grandchildren or stepchildren who qualify for benefits provided by the company.


Up to 10 awards will be granted as follows:

  • One award of $5,000
  • Two awards of $4,000
  • Four awards of $2,750, and
  • Up to three awards of $1,500

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.


Applicants will be notified in mid-May.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Payments are made in equal installments in early August and mid December.

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Northwest Pipe Company.


Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Past academic performance and future potential
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of career and educational aspirations and goals
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • Outside appraisal

Financial need will not be considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Northwest Pipe Company play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Northwest Pipe Company reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.


As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display the student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, as well as the term in which each course was taken.
  • Digital head and shoulders photo.

Also as part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
