Olympus Energy Scholarship Program

Olympus Energy has established a scholarship program to assist residents in the greater Pittsburgh area who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Olympus Energy Scholarship Program must:

  • Self-identify as Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Hispanic or Latino, Asian, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.
  • Be residents of the following counties in the greater Pittsburgh area:
    • Allegheny
    • Armstrong
    • Beaver
    • Butler
    • Fayette
    • Greene
    • Indiana
    • Washington
    • Westmoreland
  • High school seniors who plan to enroll in part-time or full-time undergraduate study in a STEM-related program of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
  • Have never been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime.

Current employees of Olympus Energy and their children are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to four {4} awards will be granted. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a STEM-related course of study and no misdemeanor or felony convictions.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Recipients may be considered for future internship and/or employment opportunities with Olympus Energy.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of career and educational goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America, and Olympus Energy selects the recipients. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Olympus Energy. Payment is made in early August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
  • Student name
  • School name
  • Grades
  • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 5, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
