Paychex offers a competitive scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to pursue post-secondary education in college or vocational programs. Each year, twelve (12) new scholarships are offered for part- or full-time study at any accredited post-secondary institution of the student’s choice.
The Paychex Scholarship Program is independently managed by Scholarship America. Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Paychex Scholarship Program must:
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,500 award. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued Paychex employment of the student’s parent and continuation of the program by Paychex.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.
Finalists are selected by Scholarship America. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified in June whether or not they have been awarded a scholarship. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Paychex. Provided the parent remains an active employee, payments are made in one installment in early August.
