PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations Scholarship Program

PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, of active full-time PCC Structurals/Oregon Operations employees (regular status) who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline.
    *Dependent children are defined as unmarried, natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee as a legally declared dependent.
  • Current high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of Corporate Employees, Executive Committee Members, Operations Managers, General Managers and children of laid off, retired or deceased employees are not eligible to apply.

Award Amounts

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $6,000 award. Up to three (3) awards will be granted. Two recipients will be selected from applicants whose parent is employed in Oregon and one recipient will be selected from applicants whose parent is employed outside of Oregon at a PCC Structurals Plant. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a degree or certificate is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon the student maintaining a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) in a full-time course of study, continued full-time employment of the student’s parent at PCC Structurals, Inc/PCC Oregon Operations and continuation of the program by PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • past academic record
  • demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • honors
  • work experience
  • statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • unusual personal or family circumstances
  • an online recommendation

Financial need will be considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in late March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations. Payments are made in early August.

Obligations

Recipients have no obligation to PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations.  They are, however, required to notify Scholarship America of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information, and to send a complete transcript when requested.

Revisions

PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

    1. A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
      • Student name
      • School name
      • Grades
      • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 10, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
