This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Applicants to the PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations Scholarship Program must be:
Children of Corporate Employees, Executive Committee Members, Operations Managers, General Managers and children of laid off, retired or deceased employees are not eligible to apply.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $6,000 award. Up to three (3) awards will be granted. Two recipients will be selected from applicants whose parent is employed in Oregon and one recipient will be selected from applicants whose parent is employed outside of Oregon at a PCC Structurals Plant. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a degree or certificate is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon the student maintaining a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) in a full-time course of study, continued full-time employment of the student’s parent at PCC Structurals, Inc/PCC Oregon Operations and continuation of the program by PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Renewal students are required to schedule a meeting with the sponsor each June to review grades and academic performance if they wish to renew their award for the following year.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of past academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. Financial need will be considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of PCC Structurals, Inc./PCC Oregon Operations play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified in late March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
