The PENTA Building Group Scholarship Program

The PENTA Building Group has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors or undergraduates who plan to continue their education in college at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas or an accredited four-year college or university in southern California.This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Eligibility
Applicants to The PENTA Building Group Scholarship Program must be:

  • Be current high school seniors or undergraduate freshman (less than 24 undergraduate credits earned).
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) or an accredited four- year college or university in southern California for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Plan to major in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent.

Award
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to two (2) awards will be granted. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and continuation of the program by the PENTA Building Group. Additionally, recipients must perform a paid internship for PENTA either the summer of their sophomore or junior year of undergraduate study to remain eligible for renewal.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Financial need is not considered.

Preference will be given to female and ethnic minority applicants.

Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America, the PENTA Building Group will determine recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The PENTA Building Group. Payments are made in equal installments in early August and mid- December.

As part of your application, you must upload a current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken.

Also as part of your application, one online recommendation must be submitted on your behalf.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
