The PGA of America REACH Foundation the 501(c)3 of PGA of America, has established a scholarship program to assist students intent on pursuing PGA of America Membership. These $8,000 scholarships are designed to improve the recruitment and retention of talented and motivated students from diverse and historically underrepresented backgrounds, who are pursuing PGA Membership through PGA Golf Management University Programs nationwide.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the PGA WORKS John & Tamara Lundgren Scholars Program must be:
Eligible individuals exclude persons or family members of the PGA of America National Board, staff, or scholarship selection committee.
Award Amounts
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an $8,000 award. Up to fifteen (15) awards will be granted. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
One award will be given to the top candidate interested or experienced in working internationally. If there are no qualified candidates for the international interest award, it will be given to the next ranked candidate.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Notification
Applicants will be notified in March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PGA of America. Payments are made in early August.
Financial need is not considered. To increase diversity and inclusiveness in PGA of America Membership, preference will be given to diverse individuals, including but not limited to women and people of color, if needed.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America and PGA of America. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
