Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale of the equivalent) in a full-time course of study for dependents and a part-time course of study for employees. Renewal is also contingent on the continued employment of the GameStop employee.

Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances and an online recommendation.

Financial need will be considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no circumstance does any officer or employee of GME or the Gamer Fund play a part in the selection process. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification
All applicants will be notified in mid July.  Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year if they meet the eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Gamer Fund. Payments are made in one installment in early August.
