Prudential Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

Prudential has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees of Prudential and participating subsidiaries who plan to continue their education in college.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Prudential Scholarship Program must be:

  • Children* of active full-time or part-time employees of Prudential in the United States or participating subsidiaries who are employed as of the application deadline and at the time awards are announced. Subsequent changes to the employment status of the parent or guardian will not affect a qualifying student’s participation in the program.
*Children include dependent natural or legally adopted children, stepchildren and legal wards supported wholly by the Prudential employee.
  • In their final year of high school or high school graduates (within the past two years) who plan to enroll for the first time in a full time course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree at an accredited U.S. two- or four year college or university for the entire 2020-21 academic year. Applicants may not have previously applied to the Prudential Scholarship Program.

Children of retired Prudential employees are ineligible to apply.

The Prudential Scholarship is competitive and not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients or receive a one-time honorarium. If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,500 award. A number of honorarium awards will be given to recipients who choose not to complete the Financial Data section of the application or who do not demonstrate financial need.

Awards, except for honorariums, may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by Prudential.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of financial need, past academic performance and future potential, school and community participation, work experience, career and educational aspirations and goals, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.

The Prudential Scholarship is competitive and not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients or receive a one-time honorarium.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Prudential play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

All applicants will be notified in May.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Prudential. Payment is made in early August.
