PSSI Scholarship Program

Packers Holdings has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees and employees who plan to continue their education in college, CEGEP, or vocational-technical school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the PSSI Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 25 and under, of part-time or full-time PSSI employees in the United States (U.S.) and Canada who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline.
    *Dependent children are defined as children who qualify for benefits provided by the company.

    • High school seniors/students in their final year of upper secondary school or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates (including CEGEP students), who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, CEGEP institution, or vocational-technical school (or equivalent) for the entire upcoming academic year.

                 OR

  • Part-time or full-time PSSI employees in the United States (U.S.) and Canada who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline.
    • High school/upper secondary school graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates (including CEGEP students), who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, CEGEP institution, or vocational-technical school (or equivalent) for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of senior leadership including executives and VP level and above are not eligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $4,000 award. Up to 15 awards will be granted.

Awards are one-time only. Past Recipients may not reapply.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in early-April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Packers Holdings, LLC. Payment is made in late July. Awards are in U.S. dollars (USD) made payable to the school.

T4A tax forms to Canadian recipients and Relevé 1 forms to Quebec residents.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Packers Holdings play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements unless they have already received the award. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • Upper secondary school diploma or certificate, if earned (Canadian applicants only).
  • Results of examinations (Canadian applicants only, if applicable).
  • English translations for any non-English documents.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 20, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
