In support of that vision, PPL Foundation’s Powerful Tech and Trade Scholarship is focused on attracting more women and the underserved to careers in which they’ve historically been underrepresented and in which we believe they can play an important role in shaping our shared energy future.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Powerful Tech and Trade Scholarship must meet all the following criteria:
Previous recipients of this program or any other PPL Programs are not eligible to apply.
Employees and children of employees of PPL Corporation and its subsidiary companies are not eligible to apply.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to (10) ten awards will be granted. Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.
Awards are for undergraduate study only (including vocational-technical/trade certificates and diplomas).
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of PPL Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
All applicants will be notified in May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PPL Foundation. Payment is made in August.
Award recipients will be given access for a year to WhichWay, a financial literacy tool with interactive financial education modules containing tools and tips that include the following topics:
Participation in Scholarship America’s financial literacy tool, WhichWay is offered to scholarship recipients. Recipients will be invited to register online to participate in financial education activities to help guide a student to financial stability and success.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than April 6, 2023 3:00 pm Central Time.
